In big projects, Usually there’s a consulting firm which manages the furniture & equipment of the project. This is a huge work to define, room by room, all components to be placed. The result usually is delivered in a spreadsheet called Room Data Sheets, including required space & equipment information, all organized with codes for a right classification and management.

In the BIM model, that classification will serve to place each furniture & equipment component. If we have to fit out manually all this work…How many hours of work and resources do we need?

It is shown below an example for a Healthcare project, showing how to speed up the task by using visual programming with dynamo. So that, starting from an excel file with the required information for all spaces, we can automatically insert all components room by room, without human risks, to spend time to what really corresponds to designers, to find the best fitout solution for each space.
